A gymnasium was an area of a starship which was dedicated to physical fitness and exercise. The gymnasium on board is located on Deck 7. It usually featured a number of items that could be used for the fitness of the crew, including exercise bikes, treadmills, and weights.
In addition to being used as a gymnastic studio and martial arts area, it could also be converted into a parrises squares area, a zero gravity area, an anbo-jytsu court, or a fencing room.
